This book is designed to provide university students with supporting material for their course on English for Specific Purposes (ESP for economics, intermediate levels). The text is divided into four units, each focusing on different skills and contents, not aiming to explain how economics works but rather focusing on learning and practicing English as a Foreign Language. The number of lessons is selected based on the number of classes held at a public university during a semester.
The book follows a similar structure for each lesson, starting with speaking debate, followed by listening activities, reading comprehension practice, and vocabulary and grammar practice. Each unit focuses on writing, numbers, numerical culture, and speaking skills. Language abilities are practiced throughout the book, with activities allowing working in pairs or small groups, cooperative learning, and Task-Based Language Teaching. The book also incorporates multimodal teaching, with listening activities using YouTube videos and ways to gamify the EFL learning experience. Although the book is intended for class practice, it can be used for self-learning as well.
